Council Position 4

Linda Stetzenbach, Ph.D.

ABOUT THE Council Member

Linda and her husband purchased their property in Cedar Highlands in the Spring of 2002 and after completion of their house in 2003 they “vacationed” here as their busy lives permitted.

Linda, a Ph.D. Microbiologist, retired as an Emerta Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) at the end of 2008.
During her more than 21 years at UNLV, Linda managed an environmental microbiology research laboratory that was funded solely by grants and contracts that she developed and managed by leveraging state and federal agencies, and private industries. This required extensive writing and speaking commitments both nationally and internationally, and partnering with numerous governmental, commercial, and private sector entities.

She also developed and taught graduate courses, and mentored numerous Master and Doctoral students, and Post-doctoral fellows, and she served as an Editor for an internationally acclaimed scientific journal.

The Stetzenbachs became fulltime Cedar Highlands’ residents in 2011 and were finally able to enjoy all that the area offers. Fishing from her float tube, swimming, snowshoeing, camping, hunting, and quilting are some of Linda’s favorite local activities in addition to volunteering at Cedar City’s Community Presbyterian Church and the church’s Thrift Store “Treasures” and as a Hostess with the Utah Shakespeare Festival.

Linda’s goal as a Council Member for the Town of Cedar Highlands is to ensure that the serenity and native beauty of the township endures while Southern Utah grows and flourishes with the influx of new residents. She welcomes interacting with her fellow town folks and learning their hopes and dreams for the future.
